The Terps put up seven runs in the first inning and never trailed as Nate Rolka did not record an out.
Tyler Leach drove in the first run of the game on a single in the second, and JJ Freeman added another run in the fourth.
Delaware fought hard in the seventh inning, as Freeman clubbed a three-run homer to make it 8-6 after a Joey Loynd RBI single, and Josearmando Diaz followed with his first home run at Delaware to make it a one-run game.
However, the Terps notched 11 runs in the final two innings to curb the Delaware comeback, winning 19-7.
Loynd went 3-5 with an RBI, while Freeman drove in four in a 2-for-4 effort. Diaz also recorded multiple hits in the effort.
Delaware has an important series with Stony Brook beginning on Friday.
