NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Director of Golf Patty Post has received a five-year contract extension through 2028, Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Chrissi Rawak announced Thursday.
"Patty has done a remarkable job leading our golf programs," Rawak said. "She has earned this extension and we are excited to support her, her staff, and our student-athletes in their continued success."
Post, the only coach in women's golf program history, took over as head coach for both teams in 2017 after spending six years at the helm of the women's side. She is just one of a few to lead a DI school's men's and women's program.
"I am very grateful to Chrissi Rawak for allowing me to continue to lead the Blue Hen golf programs," Post said. "I am very excited for the next chapter and to continue to build on our foundation with the support of the Blue Hen Community. I feel truly blessed to be working with amazing student-athletes at some of the most prestigious golf facilities in our area and to work alongside the best coaches and support staff in college athletics."
Post has led the women's golf team to two NCAA regionals and nine top-three finishes at the CAA Tournament. In addition, she won back-to-back CAA Coach of the Year honors in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
On the men's side, Post guided Roberto Nieves to the NCAA Tournament as an individual in 2021-22. This past season, Casper Nerpin was dubbed the CAA's Rookie of the Year with a freshman program record of 72.63 stroke average.
Post was also named the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Northeast Coach of the Year in August and the National Coach of the Year in September 2014.
In 2022, she received the Kim Evans Award, presented annually to the college coach and Class A PGA Professional whose support of the game through teaching, coaching and involvement in the community has helped ensure the continued growth of golf, and who represents the finest qualities the sport has to offer.
In the classroom, her programs have continued to garner high academic achievements, regularly ranking among the top teams in the department.
