Hastings, Monath Named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Top 100 Freshmen List

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's soccer's T.J. Hastings and Richard Monath have been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshmen list, the organization announced.
Monath played in all 19 games, starting in 18. The midfielder recorded an impressive 14 points for the season, including four goals and six assists. In addition to his point contributions, many of his contributions were difference makers, helping Delaware earn a win or draw in several close matches.
Hastings, like Monath, was tested early, starting in 18 of 19 games. The Middletown, Delaware product recorded nine points on the season, with a split of three goals and three assists. Throughout the season, he would be a pillar on the backline for the Blue Hens, despite his recent arrival to the University.
The Blue Hens enjoyed a successful season, finishing 9-4-6 and fourth in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). They earned big wins against Rutgers, William & Mary, Saint Joseph's, and Drexel. Their biggest win would come on Oct. 14 against nationally ranked Hofstra, defeating the Pride and in-conference opponent, 2-1.
Delaware would also earn an appearance in the CAA Tournament, defeating 5th-seeded Drexel 2-2 (4-2 PKs) in Hempstead, N.Y. before falling to top-seeded Hofstra in the semifinals.
