Namakonov Breaks 50 Freestyle Record on Day One of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The University of Delaware men's swimming & diving athlete Matvei Namakonov broke the program record in the 50 freestyle on day one of the Bucknell Invitational on Friday, Nov. 22.
Namakonov's time of 19.72 breaks his previous record of 19.86, which was set last season.
After day one, the Blue Hens are in first place out of seven teams with a team score of 414.50

RESULTS
- The 400 medley relay team of Gavin Currie, Toni Sabev, Kade Snyder and Namakonov were first with a time of 3:12.02.
- The men's 200 freestyle relay team of Namakonov, Luke Rautzhan, Sabev and Addison Collins were third with a time of 1:22.50.
- Currie finished third in the 500 free with a time of 4:30.43. Dylan Smolders (4:32.77) and Jacob Replogle (4:34.12) were fifth and seventh in the event.
- Philip Townsend (291.50) and Kevin Siegfried (264.45) were fourth and fifth in the 3-meter dive.
