Men’s Basketball Handles Rider, 72-66

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – With four players in double figures, the University of Delaware men's basketball team handled Rider Saturday on the road, 72-66. The Blue Hens move to 4-3 on the season, while the Broncs dip to 4-4.

- Delaware outshot Rider in all three facets of the game and also won the turnover battle.
- Cavan Reilly led all players with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 4-of-10 from long range.
- Izaiah Pasha and Erik Timko each finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
- John Camden rounded out the quartet with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
- Houston Emory deflected a career-high three shots.
- It was a close game over the opening 4:15 with the Hens claiming the first basket on a wide-open Timko three pointer. The hosts took a 5-1 advantage over 2:10 to the first media break for a 9-6 lead. Delaware answered with a 10-0 run over 2:00 to pull ahead 18-14, which forced a Rider timeout. The under-12 media stoppage came at 9:49 with the Blue & Gold ahead 22-18. Rider knotted things at 31 apiece with 3:22 on the clock, however UD used a 7-3 margin to rider into the break up 38-34. After opening the game 1-of-5 from long range, Delaware went 4-of-5 heading into the locker room from deep.
- The Hens pulled ahead 49-40 after four-straight points from Pasha followed by a timeout by the home team at 15:44. Delaware went ahead by as many as 11 at 61-50 with 3:30 remaining. Rider chipped away and pulled within five, but a Timko triple pushed it back to eight 69-61. The next possession, the Broncs pulled it back to five with a triple of their own with just 29.1 on the clock.
- Delaware moves to 4-1 on the season when leading at the half.
- The Hens move to 87-22 under head coach Martin Ingelsby when holding their opposition under 70 points, including 18-1 the past two seasons.
