Women's Lacrosse Hosts UMBC in First Home Game of the Season

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team opens up its home schedule against UMBC on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Delaware Stadium.

ABOUT THE HENS

Delaware secured an 11-7 win at Lehigh to kick off the season .
Jaclyn Marszal leads the team in goals with five and points with seven, while converting on 83.3% off shots recorded.
Steph Marszal earned her first win as a starting collegiate goalie denying 14 shots against Lehigh. She posted a 66.7 saver percentage.
The Blue Hens started two freshmen on defense in the season opener, Maddy Mobilia and Kat Baseggio.
Riley Gillan and Jaclyn Marszal are tied in assists with two.
The Hens offense featured seven different goal scorers against Lehigh, including Marszal, Gillan, Callie Drab, Morgan Gore, Keira Grant, Lizzie Hsu, and Danielle Livornese.

ABOUT THE RETRIEVERS

UMBC finished 8-6 last season.

The Retrievers are coming off a season-opening 20-2 win against Delaware State.
Starting goalkeeper Isabella Fontana saved six shots in three quarters of action.
UMBC fired off 38 shots against the Hornets, 28 of them on goal.
Of the 20 goals the Retrievers earned, 10 of them came off of assists.
