Women’s Lacrosse Routs Kent State for Senior Day Win, 18-4

NEWARK, Del. – Behind the collective strong goalie and a potent offense, the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team put on an offensive clinic on Senior Day, defeating the Kent State Golden Eagles, 18-4. The win gives the Blue Hens a 4-1 record. They remain undefeated at home.

- Twelve different Blue Hens tallied a goal.
- Riley Gillin had a team high six points on one goal and five assists.
- Jenna McHale recorded four points on a trio of helpers and a goal.
- Lizzie Yurchak notched hat trick and finished with four points.
- Lizzie Hsu also contributed a hat trick.
- UD goalkeepers saved seven shots while only giving up four goals.
- Madison Hranicka recorded six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
- Sophia Foohey secured the win making four saves and allowing just one score.
- Sam Schelling led the Blue & Gold with five draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware scored eight-straight goals to start the first frame before Kent State found the back of the net at 1:29 for an 8-1 advantage after one.
- The Hens added another four scores in the second period to head to the locker room up 12-1.
- The Golden Eagles held the upperhand in the third quarter outpacing the home team 3-1.
- UD cemented the victory with five-unanswered goals in the fourth.
- Every Blue Hen senior started.
- Sophia Muscolino scored her first collegiate goal.
- McKenzie Didio scored her first two goals of the season.
- It was Riley Gillin's fifth game in a row with at least three points.
- The 18 goals are the most they have scored in a single game since defeating Old Dominion 18-9 on February 25, 2023 – exactly one year ago.
- The four goals surrendered are the fewest since a 20-3 victory over Delaware State on February 24, 2021.
