Men’s Basketball Snaps Towson’s 18-Game Win Streak at Home, 74-62

TOWSON, Md. – With four in double figures, the University of Delaware men's basketball team snapped Towson's 18-game home win streak Thursday night, 74-62. UD moves to 15-9 overall and 7-4 in league play, while Towson dips to 14-10, 7-4 CAA. The win moves the streak to three straight.

- The team shot 55.3 percent from the field, including a season-best 57.9 percent from long range.
- Towson only led for 58 seconds after its opening bucket.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. recorded a game-high 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting. He added four assists to his line.
- Jyáre Davis finished the first half nearing a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds, with 10 coming on the defensive end. The Newark, Delaware native ended with 15 points and 15 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the campaign. He also tied his career mark with three blocks.
- Cavan Reilly (12) and Niels Lane (11) also finished with double-digit point totals.
- Christian Ray scored five points and corralled eight rebounds, needing 10 more to hit 1,000 boards for his career.
- Despite an opening bucket for the home team, Delaware ripped off a 12-2 run over a 2:07 span. Over the run, UD went 4-for-4 from the field with all four being triples. Towson would cut the deficit from 12-4 to 17-12 up to the under-12 media stoppage. It remained a five-point game with the Hens up 26-21 at the next break with 7:49 on the clock. Five unanswered for the Hens over the next 2:27 made it a 10-point margin at 31-21. Delaware held Towson to just 2-for-13 to end the period. Drumgoole Jr. finished the frame with an emphatic put-back dunk to send the Hens to the locker room up 36-26.
- Towson trimmed the gap to seven points in the opening minutes of the second half, however Delaware rallied back to double that for a 14-point advantage with 13:01 left. The under-12 media break came with the Hens up 55-46 with 10:26 on the clock. Again, the Tigers dropped it to seven, but Delaware continued to respond making it a 62-52 game after a triple from Reilly and a media timeout at 5:42. After a Tiger dunk, UD scored seven-straight to bolster the lead to 69-54 with 3:00 left. The Hens worked it up to 17 but ultimately finished with a 12-point margin.
- Drumgoole Jr. has scored 16 or more points in seven of the last nine games.
- The Blue & Gold advance to 6-0 on Thursdays.
- UD is now 11-2 when leading at half.
- The 11 triples tie a season mark, having done so three other times.
- The Hens advance to 81-22 under head coach Martin Inglesby when holding opponents under 70 points. This includes a mark of 12-1 this season.
