No. 6 Men’s Basketball Battles No. 14 Hampton in CAA Championship Second Round

WASHINGTON, D.C. – No. 6 University of Delaware men's basketball will take on No. 14 Hampton Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the CAA Championship Second Round.

ABOUT THE HENS
- Delaware finished the regular season with an 18-13 overall record, going 10-8 in conference action. It was the third time during the Martin Ingelsby era that Delaware finished with 10 or more wins in CAA play.
- Jyáre Davis is Delaware's leading scorer with 17.5 ppg. He added 7.7 rpg and 2.4 apg to land on the All-CAA Second Team.
- Christian Ray finished the regular season as the conference's leader in rebounds, rebounds per game, and defensive rebounds per game. He neared a double-double on average with 9.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per outing. He earned one of the league's highest honors as the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. is second on the team in scoring at 13.5 points per outing.
- Niels Lane (9.8), Ray, Cavan Reilly (9.1), and Jalun Trent (8.2) round out a group at eight points or better on average.
- Hampton finished the season at 8-23 overall, going 3-15 in CAA action. The Pirates' three conference wins came in their final five games of the regular season, as Hampton finished the year going 3-2 with wins over Towson, Campbell, and Monmouth.
- The Pirates defeated No. 11 Elon in the CAA Championship First Round on Friday 56-55. Jerry Deng led Hampton with 16 points on a 6-for-12 evening in the nation's capital. Ja'Von Benson joined his teammate in double figures with 11 points.
- Kyrese Mullen leads a trio of Pirates averaging double figures through the regular season at 15.1. He also leads the group with 8.5 boards per outing.
- If Delaware makes it past the second round and into the quarterfinals, it will face No. 3 Hofstra on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
- Following the quarterfinals, the Hens would play Monday at 8:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Should UD advance, it could face No. 2 Drexel or the winner of No. 7 Stony Brook vs No. 10 Northeastern.
- The CAA Championship game will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
