Women's Lacrosse Beats Wagner 17-6; Finishes Non-Conference Schedule with 7-1 Record

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team won their fourth straight game this season at Wagner, defeating the Seahawks 17-6. The Blue Hens enjoyed a balanced attack throughout all four quarters as well as strong goalie play by Steph Marszal and Sophia Foohey. The Hens have officially closed out their non-conference schedule, finishing 7-1, with a 4-0 record at home and 3-1 on the road.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Lizzie Hsu recorded a hat trick while also adding her first assist of the season.
- Jaclyn Marszal, Keira Grant, and Morgan Gore each scored two goals.
- In total, 11 different Hens scored a goal.
- Delaney McDaniel led the team with three assists.
- After missing a few games due to injury, Danielle Livornese scored a goal and led the team in draw controls with nine.
- Madison Hranicka finished with five ground balls and five caused turnovers, leading the team in both categories.
- Steph Marszal and Sophia Foohey combined for nine saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hens came out strong in the first fifteen minutes, outscoring the Seahawks 6-2.
- Steph Marszal defended five shots on net and the Hens were able to display another balanced quarter, scoring five goals and only giving up one, heading to halftime up 11-3.
- After giving up two goals early in the third quarter, the Hens would outscore the Seahawks 3-0 to end the quarter up nine.
- The Hens Scored three unanswered goals after giving up a goal four minutes into final quarter.
GAME NOTES
- Steph Marszal played the first half in goal, while Sophia Foohey was in net for the second half.
