WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – No. 71 University of Delaware men's tennis downed seventh-seeded Drexel 4-2 in the CAA Championship Quarterfinals on Friday. The Blue Hens advance to the semifinals on Saturday for just the second time in program history. UD moves to 16-3 on the season, while Drexel drops to 13-9.
ON THE RECORD
"We couldn't have asked for a better opponent to start the CAA Championship," Head Men's Tennis Coach Marc Pibernat said. "We knew it was going to be an absolute battle and it was nothing short of it. We had to fight our way back in singles after losing the doubles point. The team left it all out there and we were able to rack four singles win. Very proud of the team but there's things we need to do better in order to keep advancing in this tournament. Tomorrow is another battle which we will need the best versions of ourselves in order to be competitive and have a shot at the win."
