Rowing's Varsity 8 Earns CAA Boat of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Delaware rowing's Varsity 8 boat was named CAA Boat of the Week after competing against Temple on Saturday, April 6. This is rowing's first conference weekly award of the season.Â
The Blue Hens posted a season-best time of 6:09.53 on the Schuylkill River this weekend. The Varsity 8 of Grace Phillips (c), Maya Ferrer (8), Cornelia Meiss (7), Delaney Denegar (6), Storme Buckle (5), Tynneqa Jefferies (4), Kailey Grimley (3), Sarah Donaldson (2), and Ava Tine (1) had the fastest time by a CAA crew this spring. Â
This is Delaware's first CAA Boat of the Week since April 23, 2023, when the Varsity 8 of Claire Higgins-Hart (Cox), Meiss (8), Julia Rothstein (7), Ava Norton (6), Sloane Matthews (5), Tine (4), Mary Quackenbush (3), Denegar (2) and Cara Nel (1) were recognized. Delaware next competes at the Knecht Cup at Cooper River in New Jersey on April 13 and 14.Â
