Dumas Set to Compete at 2024 USATF U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -Â The University of Delaware track & field team will be represented at the 2024 USA Track & Field (USATF) U20 Championships by freshman distance runner Kadence Dumas. The last time Delaware was represented at this kind of championship was last year by Nina Sgambelluri at the 2023 Cross Country Championships.
Dumas heads to the Track Capital of the World in Eugene, Ore. for the two-day championships starting on Wednesday, June 12 set to compete in the 800m. The Voorhees, N.J. native will be looking to qualify for the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships scheduled to be held August 27-31, 2024 in Lima, Peru.
This past Spring, Dumas completed her first track & field season, competing at six outdoor meets, including posting a 800m career-best time of 2:08.90 at the 2024 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to garner bronze medals. Her time currently sits sixth in school history.
Hayward Field, on the campus of the University of Oregon, will host the 2024 USATF U20 Championships and Dumas will race in the 800m first rounds on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:08 p.m. ET/4:08 p.m. PT aiming to make Thursday, June 13 finals which takes place at 8:58 p.m. ET/5:58 p.m. PT
