Men’s Golf Battles to Fourth-Place Finish at Georgetown Intercollegiate

WESTFIELD, N.J. – Battling tough and windy conditions, the University of Delaware men's golf team placed fourth in the 11-team field at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, carding a 36-hole score of 33-over par 601. The tournament was played at the par-71, 7,202-yard Echo Lake Country Club.
HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- 4. Delaware – 300-301=601 (+33)
- T4. Aryan Vuradi – 75-72=147 (+5)
- T11. Matthew Homer – 74-76=150 (+8)
- T17. Ikk Iampongsai – 77-74=151 (+9)
- T29. Cheng-En Wu – 74-79=153 (+11)
- 54. Michael Najburg – 83-81=164 (+22)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens held the tournament lead at 16-over par after Monday's first round. Overall, the team totaled 12 birdies over the 36 holes.
- Vuradi carded a 1-over par 72 on Tuesday to climb into the top five. He finished with three birdies over the two rounds.
- Homer finished just outside the top 10 as he had a birdie in each round while finishing at 8-over par.
- Iampongsai recorded a team-high four birdies over the 36 holes.
- Wu was tied for fourth after Monday's first round as he had two of his three total birdies.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The tournament was shortened from 54 to 36 holes after as rain and playing conditions delayed the start of Monday's opening round.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will wrap up their fall season next week when they travel north to Long Island for the Nassau Intercollegiate, hosted by LIU. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played October 21-22.
