Women’s Golf Shoots Low on Sunday at Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. – The University of Delaware women's golf team carded 16 birdies on Sunday to climb the team standings and finish seventh at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer. The Blue Hens turned in a three-round score of 51-over par 915, including a 291 on Sunday which was the second-lowest score in the field. The 15-team tournament was held at the par-72, 6,195-yard National Golf Course.

The Blue Hens will head out west in a few weeks to compete in the Red Rocks Invitational, hosted by Northern Arizona University. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware turned in a team score of 3-over par 291 on Sunday, its fourth-best round of the season.
- Dunigan climbed 25 spots in the individual rankings on Saturday with a 2-over par 74. She bettered that with an even-par 72 on Sunday to move into the top 15. She totaled six birdies for the tournament.
- Khokhlova had a team-high seven birdies for the weekend, including three each on Saturday and Sunday. She carded a 1-under par 71 over the final 18 holes to climb 20 spots in the rankings and record her third top-20 finish of the season.
- Henkel finished with six birdies for the tournament, including seven on Sunday when she turned in her best round of the weekend at 2-over par 74.
- Playing as an individual, Sawant bounced back from a tough opening round to record consecutive rounds of 76 for her best collegiate finish. She had six birdies over the final 36 holes.
- Kim carded a 2-over par 74 on Sunday to climb 10 spots in the standings.
