Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Fred Hardy Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Delaware track & field team competed in its first outdoor meet of the season, the Fred Hardy Invitational on Thursday and Friday, hosted by the University of Richmond.

RESULTS

The women's hammer throw kicked off the meet on Thursday. Mackenzie Stephens took home the win with a throw of 50.24 meters. Behind Stephens was Sophia Axelrod, who finished in second with a mark of 47.66 meters
Rachel Schmitt won the javelin throw with a mark of 41.83 meters. Her throw was a new personal record and ranks seventh all-time in program history.
Olamide Ayeni and Emarie Jackson finished second and third in the shot put. Ayeni's throw of 14.41 meters ranks second in school history and Jackson's throw of 13.74 meters ranks fifth.
Rachel Starr was second in the women's 5,000 meter run (17:39.34)
The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Morgan Mims, Kadence Dumas, Sara Manson and Lauren Leath were third with a time of 3:51.84
Erin McGoey finished in fourth in the steeplechase (11:21.65)
Lauren Leath was fifth in the 800 meter run (2:13.13)
Brooke Duke was sixth in the high jump (1.55 meters)
Leah Clear was eighth in the 1500 meter run (4:35.92)
Jayde McDermid was eighth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.38)
Sara Manson was eighth in the long jump (5.26 meters)
Jianna Molin was the top finisher in the 100 meter dash (12.64)
Alexa Dougherty was the top finisher in the 400 meter hurdles (1:06.25)
Morgan Mims was the top finisher in the 200 meter dash (25.71)
