Cousins and Wanzer Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team had two student-athletes recognized on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday. Tara Cousins and Ella Wanzer were recognized for their performance in the classroom and on the basketball court.
To be eligible, a nominee must compete in 90-percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66-percent of the institution's games, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in undergraduate and graduate studies, and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Cousins started all 30 games for the Blue Hens, averaging 11.2 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game on the campaign, while chipping in 1.4 steals per game on the defensive end. The All-CAA Second Team selection was tied for first on the Hens with 20 double-digit point showings, including eight at 15 or better, and a pair at 20-plus. The Washington, D.C. native shot 38.9 percent from the field and 36-percent from beyond the arc. In the classroom, Cousins earned her bachelor's degree in biology and is scheduled to graduate with a master's in international business.
Wanzer appeared in all 30 games with 25 starts for the Blue Hens, averaging 8.8 points and a team-high 1.5 steals per game. The Buffalo, N.Y. native posted 13 double-digit point showings, including three at 15 or better, and one at 20-plus. The grad student led the CAA in three-point shooting at 36-percent from beyond the arc. In the classroom, Wanzer earned her bachelor's degree in art and design with a concentration in graphic design and is pursuing a master's in fashion and apparel.
