McDaniel Records 150th Career Point in Women’s Lacrosse’s Rout of UMBC

BALTIMORE – University of Delaware's Delaney McDaniel recorded her 150^th career point in the Blue Hens (4-2) 16-8 rout of UMBC (6-1) Wednesday.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware took 29 shots with 24 on target.
The Hens held the upper hand in ground balls (+9), draw controls (+2), and turnovers (+5).
McDaniel finished tied with a game-high five points and became the 19^th player in program history to reach the 150-point plateau. She had five assists.
Jaclyn Marszal led all players with four goals and added an assist.
Callie Drab also finished with five points on three scores and two assists.
Ella Rishko tallied the hat trick and added four draw controls and three ground balls.
Kiki Grant (1G, 1A), Halen Saroney (2G), Morgan Gore (1G), Sam Paradise (1G), Lulu Rishko (1A), and Riley Sturtevant (1G) all contributed to the scoring.
Paradise added a team-high five draw controls.
Natalie Reed (2-0) recorded her second-straight win with five saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After a 4-4 tie late in the first quarter, McDaniel scored with 1.5 seconds remaining for a 5-4 margin after one.
The Hens blanked the Retrievers in the second stanza, while they scored five to push the advantage to 10-4.
UD pushed the run to 10-unanswered goal through the end of the third period for a 14-4 lead.
The home team held a 4-2 scoring margin in the final frame.

GAME NOTES

McDaniel needs six assists to set the program record that has stood for 39 years.
