Ayeni Earns Gold, Track & Field Earn Six Podium Finishes at CAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -Â Six podium finishes, including one first place, along with one program record headlines the University of Delaware track & field team performance as its regular season concludes at the Coastal Athletic Association Championships from May 14-15.

The Blue Hens finished in seventh place under first year head coach Josh Hayes, improving on their ninth place from a season ago.

PODIUM FINISHES
- Headlining the Blue Hens podium finishes was Olamide Ayeni, who won the women's discus throw at 52.53 meters. She became the second Blue Hen over the last three seasons, along with Myrissa McFolling-Young, who won the event back in 2023.
- Emarie Jackson broke the program record in the shot put, while placing second, with a throw of 15.57. She broke the record that McFolling-Young set back in 2023.
- Morgan Reiner and Rachel Schmitt earned second and third place finishes in the javelin throw. Reiner's throw of 42.59 meters is sixth in program history. Schmitt's throw was 39.39 meters.
- Mackenzie Stephens earned a bronze medal in the hammer throw, finishing in third place with a throw of 53.47 meters.
- Sara Manson placed third in the heptathlon with a score of 4677. Her score ranks third in program history. She also earned a bronze medal in the pentathlon during indoor season.
- Rounding out the podium finishes was Kadence Dumas, placing third in the 800-meter run at 2:08.80. She earned a third place finish in the 800-meter run last season.

- Lauren Leath was fifth in the 400-meter hurdle finals at 1:01.03, which ranks sixth in program history.
- Jayde McDermid finished with a time of 1:02.37 in the, which ranks ninth in program history.
- Leah Clear in the 1500 meter finalsÂ
- Jianna Molin in the 100 meter dash at 12.09 seconds. Her time ranks eighth in program history.
- Erin McGoey finished ninth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:14.13)
- Manson in the 100-hurdles (14.52)
- Morgan Mims in the 400 meter dash (57.86)
- Jacquelle Rolle in the 200 meter dash (25.45)
- Rachel Starr in the 10,000 meter run (36:42.59)
- Sara Penuela in the long jump (5.25 meters)
- Libby Neiburg in the high jump (1.57 meters)
- The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Mims, Dumas, McDermid and Leath were fifth at 3:45.14, the ninth fastest time in program history
- The 4 by 100 meter relay team of Molin, Mims, Penuella and Rolle were seventh (46.87)
