Axelrod Sets Freshman Record at Larry Ellis Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophia Axelrod from the University of Delaware track & field team breaks the freshman record in the hammer throw at the Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend.

RESULTS
- Mackenzie Stephens (56.36 meters) and Axelrod (53.75 meters) were fifth and sixth in the hammer throw. Stephen's throw ranks third all time and Axelrod's throw ranks fifth. Axelrod's throw is a freshman record
- Kadence Dumas finished seventh in the 400-meter dash at 55.37. Her time ranks seventh in program history
- Leah Clear was the top Blue Hen finisher in the 1,500-meter run at 4:26.89. Her time is fifth in program history
- Jayde McDermid was ninth in the 100-meter hurdles preliminary round at 14.65. Her time ranks ninth in program history
- Erin McGoey's time of 11:12.23 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase ranks ninth in program history. She finished 10th in the event
- Olamide Ayeni (49.26 meters) and Emarie Jackson (45.93 meters) finished fourth and seventh respectively in the discus throw. Jackson's throw ranks 6th in program history.
- Lauren Leath finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:02.58. Her time ranks eighth in program history.
- Emarie Jackson finished fourth in the shot put at 14.62 meters
- Rachel Schmitt finished second in the Javin throw at 41.04 meters.
- The women's 4 by 100-meter relay team of Jianna Molin, Morgan Mims, Sara Penuela and Jacquelyn Rolle finished second at 46.79.
- Molin was the top Blue Hen finisher in the 100-meter dash at 12.21
- Kamila Soja was the top Blue Hen finisher in the 5,000-meter run at 17:48.79
- Chali Baumann was the top Blue Hen finisher in the women's long jump at 5.50 meters.
