NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team, in conjunction with The Summit League, has announced its 2025 conference schedule. The Blue Hens will play a six-game round robin conference schedule, the league office announced on Tuesday with three road games and three home games at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
With the additions of Delaware and UMass as men's soccer affiliates this season, The Summit League's seven programs will play a single round-robin format starting on September 27 with seven-consecutive Saturdays filled with three matches before regular season play concludes on Wednesday, November 5. Each team will have one bye weekend in conference play.
The Blue Hens will play their first Summit League match at home against fellow conference newcomer UMass on Saturday, September 27. The two teams most recently met in 2012 and Delaware is 1-2 all-time against the Minutemen. UD won the only matchup in Newark, 1-0, in 2011. UMass went 13-4-5 last season and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
Following a bye week to begin October, Delaware will travel to Denver for a contest against the Pioneers on October 11. It will be the first meeting between the two programs. Denver won The Summit League regular season title and advanced to the NCAA College Cup in 2024, falling in penalty kicks in the national semifinals to eventual champion Vermont.
Delaware will return home on October 18 for a matchup against the University of Nebraska Omaha. The Mavericks went 7-7-3 last season after making the NCAA tournament in 2023. It will be the first time the two programs have met.
The Hens will take on another first-time opponent when they head back on the road for a contest against Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Golden Eagles finished last season with a 7-6-3 record.
The final month of the regular season will open when the Blue & Gold host St. Thomas on November 1. The Tommies went 4-10-2 in 2024 and it will be the first meeting between the two programs as St. Thomas enters its fifth season as a Division I institution.
Conference play will conclude on November 5 with a road trip to Kansas City to play the defending Summit League champions. The Roos finished the 2024 season with a 14-5-3 record, defeating top-seeded Denver in the conference championship and advancing to the third round of the NCAA Championship. This will be the first meeting between Delaware and Kansas City.
The 2025 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship will return to a four-team format this season with semifinals being played Sunday, November 9 on campus sites and hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. The highest-remaining seed will then host the title match Saturday, November 8 on its campus.
The Blue Hens finished the 2024 campaign with a 7-7-2 record. Marius Stenner was named the CAA and ECAC Rookie of the Year, while Sam Donnellan and Jan Schroeder each earned All-CAA honors.
The remainder of the 2025 men's soccer schedule will be announced at a later date.
