NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Delaware men's golf team had three student-athletes selected as 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Matthew Homer, Casper Nerpin and Egor Zubov were three of 556 NCAA Division I athletes from 190 schools to earn the recognition.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in half of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Homer, a finance major, appeared in seven tournaments last season. He played in 19 rounds and tied for fourth on the team with a 73.79 stroke average. Homer had two top-10 finishes in the spring at the Testudo Cup and Rutherford Intercollegiate, shooting an even-par at both tournaments. He put together six-consecutive rounds at even or below par.
Nerpin earned All-CAA Second Team honors after leading the Blue Hens with a 72.96 stroke average. He capped his season with a third-place finish at the CAA Championship, Delaware's highest individual placing since 2012.
Zubov graduated from Delaware this spring with a degree in finance. The senior appeared in all 28 team rounds last season and tied for fourth on the team with a 73.79 stroke average. He ranks seventh in the UD record books with a 74.35 career stroke average. He won the men's individual title at the 2025 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship.
