LYNCHBURG, Va. - The University of Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens track & field team competed at the Liberty Open on Friday.
The Blue Hens will travel to Lynchburg again to compete in the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field championships from February 27-28.
RESULTS
- Lauren Leath finished fourth overall in the 400-meters at 55.59 seconds. The time ranks fifth all-time in program history and is the 81st fastest time in Division I.
- Marie-Theres Gruber finished eighth overall in the mile invite with a time of 4:53.29. Her time ranks fifth all-time in program history.
- Olamide Ayeni fourth overall in the shot put with a season best throw of 14.16 meters.
- Sara Penuela qualfiied for the long jump finals, and was fifth overall in the event at 5.53 meters.
- The top Blue Hens finishers in the 60-meter hurdles was Sara Manson (9.35 seconds), Eva Denis in the 60-meters (8.02 seconds), Jordan Blanck in the 800-meters (2:22.55), Sara Penuela in the 200-meters (22.64 seconds), Rachel Kuehl in the high jump (1.56 meters), and Sophia Axelrod earned a new personal best in the weight throw at 15.99 meters.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens travel to State College, Pa. to compete in the Penn State Invite on January 30-31. A group of athletes will travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to compete in the Bucknell Open & Multi on Janauary 30.
