NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team ended the game on a 7-2 scoring run over the final 22 minutes to come-from-behind to defeat Jacksonville 14-13 on Thursday afternoon at Delaware Stadium. With the victory, the Fightin' Blue Hens have now won five-straight games, improving to 6-4 overall and remaining undefeated in Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference play at 3-0. The Dolphins fall to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"This game was hard fought from start to finish," head coach Amy Altig said. "Jacksonville is a team that knows how to win and we had to learn, adapt, and adjust throughout the whole game. Our team fought the mental battle and never gave up regardless of the score. Kara (Nakrasius) prepared our draw group to be dominant in all areas and Molly Baumgratz stepped up for us. This was a huge win for our program in a new conference and we are looking to capitalize on it and keep moving forward."
