Head coach Greg Mamula is excited to announce the appointment of Sky Duff as the new assistant baseball coach for the Blue Hens. Duff, a talented young coach, joins the Blue Hens following a standout career and coaching stint at the University of Pittsburgh.
Duff had an illustrious playing career at Pitt, where he excelled as a four-year starting infielder. He holds several records at Pitt, including the all-time career leader in doubles (54) and walks (171). Additionally, Duff ranks second in career at-bats (794), third in games started (203), fifth in runs (163), and eighth in hits (226). His exceptional performance in 2021 earned him a spot on the all-ACC team and the ABCA all-region team, with a .366 batting average and a .986 OPS.
Following his playing career, Duff transitioned into coaching, serving as a graduate assistant at Pitt during the 2023-2024 season. In this role, he assisted with the Panthers’ infielders, hitters, and in-game defensive positioning. During the summer of 2024, Duff took on multiple roles with the Y-D Red Sox in the Cape Cod League, where he served as the infield coach, hitting coach, and third-base coach.
At Pitt, Duff earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Marketing.
In his role with the Blue Hens, Duff will be responsible for coaching the outfielders, coordinating baseball camps, and assisting with offense, pitching, and recruiting.
