Laura Fox joined the Blue Hens as an assistant coach in September 2018.
Fox arrived in Newark after stints at Mount St. Mary's, Holy Cross and Lycoming. The former Laura Zinkand, Fox is no stranger to the Colonial Athletic Association as she graduated from Towson University in 2014 with a degree in biology. In her senior year with the Tigers, Fox started 15 games, finished fifth on the team with 12 goals and helped lead the squad to a CAA Championship and berth into the NCAA Tournament.
"I am honored and so very excited to join the Blue Hens family," remarked Fox. "I want to thank Kateri Linville and the entire University of Delaware Athletics Department for offering me the opportunity to rejoin the CAA and to coach an outstanding team! I look forward to maintaining the standard of excellence for which this program is known and to positively impact our student-athletes as they work to achieve academic and athletic greatness."
Prior to joining the Hens, Fox served as the defensive coordinator and goalie coach at Mount St. Mary's, where she led a squad that ranked third nationally in scoring defense while coaching the NEC Defensive Player of the Year, All-ECAC Second Team Goalie and three players that earned All-NEC honors in 2018.
"Laura has a tremendous passion for the game," Linville, who is in her ninth season at UD, stated. "She brings a wealth of playing and coaching experiences that lend to her ability to be an outstanding recruiter, teacher and mentor. Laura is a proven leader who values the student-athlete experience and can create positive change at an individual and team level. We are thrilled to have Laura join the Blue Hen family."
Fox also played two seasons of lacrosse at Cincinnati before transferring to Towson.
