Austin Van Treuren

Austin Van Treuren joined the Marketing and Engagement department at Delaware in September 2021.
Van Treuren, a 2017 UD graduate, arrived in Newark in May 2018 and first served UD Athletics in the role of Events and Facilities Manager. In this role he served as the Event Manager for Field Hockey and Women’s Basketball and also planned, coordinated, and executed over 250+ athletic and external events including sold out concerts, UDance, the Harlem Globetrotters events, President’s Office ceremonies, and special events. In this role he also served as Manager of the Operations Event Staff, Card Access, Key Inventory, Signage, and assisted in the scheduling of the BCC. He also served as Project Manager for multiple campus work groups associated with the re-opening of Delaware’s athletic facilities and return to competition in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Prior to arriving back in Newark, Van Treuren worked as an Operations Coordinator for Main Line Expo. In that role he coordinated a crew of up to eight people in the setup and breakdown of events, worked to improve equipment quality, optimize inventory storage, and also created a social media presence for the company from scratch.
During his collegiate years, Van Treuren was a student manager with the Blue Hen Men’s Basketball team. He coordinated the travel of equipment on road trips, in addition to uniform distribution and the communication of daily roles for the managerial staff. He also worked as an Events and Facilities Management Intern, creating designs for other events, supervising a part-time staff, and planning and executing several small capital projects.
At Delaware, Austin will serve as the lead Marketing contact for Field Hockey and Baseball and serve as the secondary contact for Women’s Basketball and Lacrosse. In this role he will create, coordinate and execute in depth and diverse Marketing Plans to engage the UD Fan base. He will also be responsible for coordinating and leading the marketing student intern staff, marketing and promoting Recreation and the Ice Arena & Outdoor Pools, serving as Event Manager for Special Events, serving as a liaison for Student Engagement and with Delaware Sports Properties.
