Benjasupawan Leads University of Delaware Women's Golfers To Sixth Place Finish at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team carded a 315 team score during Sunday's final round as the Blue Hens finished in sixth place out of 12 squads this weekend at the Princeton Invitational.
Delaware, which posted scores of 306 and 307 on Saturday, finished the tournament with a 928 three-round total. Yale claimed the team title with an 896 score, while Rollins College placed second with a 907 score.
Andi SlaneFreshman Rachel Lee, who also fired an 80 on Sunday, ended up with a 17 over par score of 77-76-80-233 to finish in 25th place. Junior Nathalie Filler carded a seven over par 79 during her final round to tie for 27th place with a 20 over par score of 76-81-79-236.
UD sophomore Vitoria Teixeira tied Benjasupawan for the low round of the day by a Blue Hen with a 78, and tied for 41st place with a 25 over par 82-81-78-241.
Senior Baralee Theinthong, who tied for 44th place with a 26 over par 81-79-82-242, and sophomore Grace Chua, who tied for 56th place after carding a 32 over par 80-83-85-248, both played as individuals for the Blue Hens.
Marika Liu of Yale earned medalist honors at the invitational with a three over par score of 75-72-72-219.
The Blue Hens will host the second annual University of Delaware Invitational next Saturday and Sunday at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
