Amanda Terzian Falls in Tiebreaker, Blue Hen Women's Golfers Finish Third at University of Delaware Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- Blue Hen senior Amanda Terzian tied for first place in the individual standings before falling in a sudden death tiebreaker while UD finished third in the team standings this weekend at the University of Delaware Invitational.

Terzian carded a five over par 77 during Sunday's round on the par 72, 6,180-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club course, finishing with an 11 over par score of 74-76-77-227. Terzian then faced Penn's Amanda Chin in a sudden death playoff, with Chin winning the first hole to earn tournament medalist honors.

Georgetown captured the 10-team title with a three-round score of 922, while Penn placed second with a 927 score. Delaware finished third with a 941 score, while the Blue Hen “B” squad was ninth with a 991 score.

UD junior Vimonthip Benjasupawan tied for seventh place with a 16 over par 75-78-79-232, as she was the other Blue Hen to finish among the top 10 at the invitational.

Andi Slane tied Terzian for the low round of the day by a Blue Hen by carding a 77 on Sunday, tying for 17th place with a 25 over par score of 83-81-77-241. Vitoria Teixeira tied for 19th place after she

fired a 26 over par 78-80-84-242 for the weekend.

Nathalie Filler recorded a 28 over par 83-81-80-244 to finish in 25th place while Baralee Theinthong, playing as an individual, tied for 26th place with a 29 over par score of 86-78-81-245.

Rachel Lee carded a 30 over par 81-80-85-246 to tie for 30th place, while Grace Chua tied for 32nd place after she fired an 81-81-86-248, 32 over par.

Emma Sills tied for 34th place with a 34 over par 83-84-83-250, while Marie Bogenez carded a 39 over par 83-89-83-255 to tie for 42nd place. Annie Bowlsby tied for 44th place after she fired a 41 over par score of 82-86-89-257.

Delaware wraps up its 2014 fall season on Nov. 2-4 when the Blue Hens compete in the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
