Delaware Registers Solid Showing at Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Delaware rowing team continued its fall schedule Saturday as the Blue Hens participated in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
UD had seven crews taking part in four races – Frosh/Novice 4+, Championship 4+, Club 8+, and Championship 8+. The strongest performance of the day for Delaware was a third place finish by Delaware's “A” team in the Frosh/Novice 4+. The squad recorded a time of 17:39.53.
Kevin GruberIn the Championship 4+ competition, the Hens finished in in 28th place with a time of 18:06.50.
In the Club 8+ race, UD had three crews competing. The best time was recorded by Delaware's “A” squad with a time of 15:49.13, which landed them a 10th place finish. The “B” team finished in 17th place with a time of 16:15.18, while the “C” team garnered a time of 16:31.21, which was good for 20th place in the race.
In UD's final competition of the day, the Blue Hens tallied a 15th place finish in the Championship 8+ race with a time of 15:29.49.

The Blue Hens will return to action this Saturday for their final race of the fall schedule as UD takes part in the Head of the Occoquan Regatta at the Occoquan River in Fairfax, Va.
