Hens Compete in Murphy Cup Regatta Saturday

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The University of Delaware rowing team will continue its spring schedule Saturday as the Blue Hens hit the water in the 33rd the annual Murphy Cup Regatta on the Cooper River.
Kevin GruberDelaware began the spring season last weekend by participating in a tri-meet with Lehigh and Temple on the Schuylkill River. The Blue Hens earned two race victories in the meet with the Mountain Hawks and Owls.
In the Novice Eights competition Saturday, the Delaware boat will consist of coxswain Alison Gibney, Kerry Stewart, Susie Baumgardner, Courtney Burnham, Kelly Gilmartin, Emma Oury, Jacqueline Bucchere, Kate Gantner, and Kyra Taylor.
Coxswain Hayley Diverio will lead the Blue Hens Varsity Eights crew accompanied by Denise Cirelli, Corey Holloway, Hannah Scholes, Catherine Manner, Carly Alexander, Lily Guttentag, Kate Flood, and Jennifer Boone.
The Second Varsity Eights “A” boat will be made of coxswain Molly Gardner, Shannon Taylor, Calla Cissel, Juliana Fellowes, Samantha Noel, Megan Kirby, Emma Spillman, Claire Brown, and Danielle Weader.
The Second Varsity Eights “B” crew will be led by coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum, Kristina Harmon, Danielle Lawler, Kristen Reisor, Savannah Wolfson, Curtira Williams, Taylor Morgan, Lian Cancryn, and Jeannie Kontos.
The Varsity Fours boat will be comprised of coxswain Jamie Noce, Laura Donohue, Olivia Brady, Isabella Lurie, and Kaitlyn Thomesen.
Coxswain Alex Aber will lead the Delaware Novice Fours alongside Brynn McMahon, Melissa Rodriguez, Annabelle Beattie, and Katie Hewton.
UD's performance at least season's Murphy Cup Regatta was highlighted by the Blue Hen Varsity Eights boat advancing to the Petite Final.
