Varsity Fours Highlight UD Performances at Knecht Cup Regatta

Day One Results
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The University of Delaware rowing team was able to brave high winds and put together a solid performance, Saturday in day one of the 2015 Knecht Cup Regatta on Mercer Lake.
The Varsity Fours crew led by coxswain Hayley Diverio posted a team-best second place finish in the second heat of its competition. The Hens finished the race in 7:55.96, which was 4.24 seconds behind first place Duquesne. The crew advanced to the semifinals, which will be held Sunday morning.
The UD Second Varsity Eights crew finished in sixth place in heat three of the event. The boat, led by coxswain Jamie Noce, tallied a time of 7:10.74 in the race.
Delaware's third boat of day one was Varsity Eights crew. Coxswain Molly Gardner led UD to a fifth place finish in the third heat with a time of 6:58.29. The Blue Hen time was 13.96 behind heat winner Boston College.
