LAST TIME OUT
Statistical contributions came from across the board as No. rv/-- Delaware moved to 2-0 on the year with a 17-7 victory over George Washington in the home opener at Delaware Stadium Tuesday. The Hens held a slight 8-6 lead at halftime before outscoring the Colonials, 9-1, in the second half. Both teams scored within the first two minutes of the second, but Delaware scored eight unanswered goals to bring home the win. Casey Lyons posted her 13th career hat trick and finished the night with five points while Jamie Schwartz notched her second career hat trick with a career-high-tying four goals. Shannon Hawley and Kara Dattellas joined Coley Ricci in registering two goals apiece. Hawley and Dattellas each also added two assists for Delaware. Defensively, Mary Abram logged a career-best game with four groundballs and three caused turnovers. Becky Gohsler tied a career-high with four draw controls while Kirsten Hale picked up three. Taylor Carpentier came in off the bench to tally three saves for the win.
HEN SCRATCHINGS 🐔
· The Blue Hens are 2-0 to start the season for the second straight year.
· Delaware has had at least eight players tally a goal in each of its two games so far this season.
· The Hens have held opponents to just three combined goals in the second half.
· With five points versus George Washington, Casey Lyons sits alone in 23rd place in program history with 123 points (81g, 42a).
· Shannon Hawley is nearing the 100-career-point mark and now has 99 total on 79 goals and 20 assists. She will be the 31st player in the Delaware record books to reach the century mark.
· Coley Ricci has posted the game-winning goal in both games this season.
· Dating to last season, Jamie Schwartz has tallied at least one point in nine straight games and at least one goal in seven consecutive.
· Shannon Hawley and Kirsten Hale also extended their points/goal streaks to five against the Colonials.
SERIES INFORMATION
· Penn leads the all-time series between the two teams, 7-2, and has won three straight.
· Last season, the No. 14 Quakers pulled out the 9-7 victory through a heavy snowfall on Feb. 21 at a Delaware Stadium.
· Delaware's last win versus Penn came on March 15, 2006 as the Hens picked up a 10-9 win over the No. 17 Quakers at Rullo Stadium.
· The Blue Hens have never won at historic Franklin Field.
· Karin Brower Corbett (William & Mary '92) is in her 17th season at the helm of the Quakers. During her tenure, Penn has posted a mark of 175-95 (.648) while collecting eight Ivy League titles and three trips to the national semifinals.

Penn, a team that finished 2015 with a 14-5 record while reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament, opens the season Saturday ranked No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse poll and No. 14 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll. Co-captains Nina Corcoran and Lely DeSimone earned Preseason All-American accolades from Inside Lacrosse. The duo each earned All-Region honors last season. Corcoran is coming off a record-breaking season as she dished out 40 assists for the Quakers, which set a new Penn single-season record and was tops in the Ivy League.
