Casey Lyons logged seven points for the second straight game Saturday afternoon as Delaware topped Monmouth, 14-11, at Delaware Stadium. The Blue Hens (7-1) have now won five straight and are also 5-0 at home this season while MU falls to 4-4 on the year. Lyons, who tallied a career-high six assists and a goal on Wednesday, collected a season-best five goals with two assists against the Hawks. Three of her goals came from the eight-meter line. The attacker added a groundball and caused turnover in the win. Delaware held a 10-5 lead at halftime before Monmouth opened the second half with a spark. The Hawks scored four straight goals and cut the score to 10-9 with 13:40 on the clock. UD countered with four of the game's next six scores, including a tally from Lyons with four seconds remaining in regulation for the 14-11 final. Shannon Hawley notched her first hat trick of the season and ninth of her career with three goals in addition to an assist, two groundballs and a caused turnover against the Hawks. Taylor Carpentier also moved to 7-1 on the year while accumulating five saves.

· Delaware is off to its best start since 2000 when the squad also opened the year 7-1.
· The Blue Hens are currently receiving votes in the Inside Lacrosse Top 20 Media Poll and IWLCA Coaches Poll.
· UD has won five straight, the most since 2014 when the Hens posted seven consecutive wins.
· UD has scored at least 10 goals in every game this season and is averaging 12.88 per game, a mark that leads the CAA.
· The Blue Hens are currently 10th nationally with 6.13 assists per game and 12th with a 5.00 scoring margin. Delaware is also 13th in the NCAA with 19.00 points per contest.
· Casey Lyons was named the CAA Player of the Week after totaling 14 points on six goals, eight assists, two groundballs and a caused turnover in two UD wins.
· Lyons is nearing the 100-goal club and has registered 92 during her three-year career with the Hens. Her total of 149 career points is good for 18th in program history.
· Lyons currently leads the CAA and is eighth across NCAA Division I standings with 5.0 points per game. The attacker is also fourth nationally with 2.71 assists per contest.
· Jamie Schwartz is also ranked nationally and is 14th with 21 goals and 32nd with 26 points.
· Dating to last season, Schwartz has tallied points in 15 straight games and goals in 13 consecutive.
· Erin Wein is 13th in the NCAA rankings with 2.38 caused turnovers per game.
· Taylor Carpentier is 17th nationally with 7.64 goals allowed per game and 26th with a .478 save percentage.
SERIES INFORMATION
· Temple leads the all-time series over the Blue Hens at 18-14 since 1978.
· Last season, the Owls upended No. 19 Delaware, 11-6, at Delaware Stadium on March 14.
· Delaware had previously won eight of the last nine contests against the Owls.
· In the last matchup at Geasey Field, Chelsea Fay posted her 100th career goal as the Hens tallied their fourth straight victory by defeating Temple, 16-9, in 2014.
· A 2010 US Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee, Bonnie Rosen (Virginia '93) is in her 10th season at the helm of Temple lacrosse. She is 78-83 during her tenure with the Owls and 146-164 in 20 overall years as a head coach.

The Owls have won seven straight and are 7-1 on the year after dropping the season opener, 8-5, to then-No. 16 Louisville. A high-powered offense similar to UD, Temple has won five of the seven by 10 or more goals, most recently taking down city rival Saint Joseph's 16-4 on Saturday. Senior Rachel Schwaab leads TU with 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 total points, which rank 10th among all players in NCAA Division I. Senior Megan Tiernan is close behind with 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points. Tiernan has notched four hat tricks already this season, while Schwaab has three. Senior goalkeeper Jaqi Kakalecik has played every minute in the cage, making 49 saves while allowing 49 goals for a save percentage of .500 to rank third in the BIG EAST. Her goals-against average of 6.13 ranks third in the nation.
