· Ricky Fried (UMBC '88) is in his 13th season at the helm of the Hoyas and has guided Georgetown to a 130-88 mark during his tenure. Under Fried, Georgetown has earned seven BIG EAST regular season titles, made six trips to the BIG EAST Tournament Championship Game, winning in 2010, and has advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times, reaching the quarterfinals twice.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN
The Hoyas finished the 2016 season with a mark of 6-11 overall and 4-3 in conference play, which earned a BIG EAST Championship berth. The squad graduated eight seniors and one graduate student, but returns two of its top three scorers in 2017 in sophomores Francesca Whitehurst and Taylor Gebhardt. Whitehurst was a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and also garnered Inside Lacrosse Preseason Third Team All-American accolades. The midfielder led the Hoyas in scoring last season with 34 points on 23 goals and 11 assists while adding 19 draw controls, 19 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Goalie Maddy Fisher returns for her senior campaign after starting all 17 games last season while alloying 11.47 goals per game with 57 saves at a clip of .358.
