GAME PREVIEW
The Blue Hens continue their four-game homestand Saturday afternoon as a surging Delaware squad brings a four-game winning streak against non-league foe Binghamton University. Earlier in the afternoon, the Delaware women's lacrosse squad hosts No. 20 ranked Virginia Tech as part of Senior Day.
Delaware (5-2) enters the game riding a four-game winning streak that includes wins over Monmouth, VMI, Villanova, and this past Tuesday's 12-9 victory over Manhattan here at Delaware Stadium. Matt Olbrich scored a career-high three goals, Joe Eisele, Charlie Kitchen, and Will Hirschmann each scored twice, and goalkeeper Matt DeLuca made nine stops in goal.
The Hens forced 19 turnovers and committed just eight themselves. Delaware's four-game win streak is its longest since a five-game win streak during the 2010 NCAA Tournament season.
Binghamton (1-3), a member of the America East Conference, has enjoyed a solid start so far with a season-opening 11-8 win over Colgate, an 11-8 loss to Marist, and consecutive wins over Hobart (12-5), and at Siena (10-5) this past Tuesday.
