LAST TIME OUT
Nearly three hours of weather delays could not halt the hard-charging Blue Hens as UD got goals from seven different players and stormed past Rutgers for a 17-5 victory at Delaware Stadium on Saturday. Delaware, which defeated Rutgers for the third straight time, got four goals from Christine Long while Becky Gohsler netted her third straight hat trick with three goals, Sydney Rausa scored three times and Jamie Schwartz, Kirsten Hale and Coley Ricci each scored twice. Gohsler also dished out three assists, forced three turnovers and picked up three groundballs while Blue Hen goalkeeper Taylor Carpentier was solid in the net with eight saves and five groundballs. Rausa and Schwartz also each dished out two assists. Rutgers (2-2), which had a two-game win streak snapped, managed just 18 shots, turned the ball over 23 times, and failed to clear in 7 of their 17 attempts. The Scarlet Knights got a team-high three goals from Nicole Kopyta.
HOW WE HATCHED 🐣
The Blue Hens dedicate their season to those who have inspired them to play and grow the game of lacrosse. Friday we will honor John Noonan, high school coach of senior Mary Abram and Paul Bedard, father of freshman Sarah Bedard. Mary and Sarah play inspired for their number one fans and supporters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete today and, with the support of our alumnae, families, and friends, the opportunity to travel abroad this summer to grow the game in Switzerland! Help support a learning experience of a lifetime here.
