· Delaware most recently fell to Rutgers, 14-10, at High Point Solutions Stadium Saturday. Sarah Bedard posted her second straight game with a hat trick by logging a career-high five points on four goals and one assist.
· Sarah Bedard, who did not score any goals during her rookie campaign a season ago, has logged seven goals in the past two games for Delaware.
· Becky Gohsler ranks 14th nationally with 2.67 caused turnovers per game while Taylor Carpentier is 16th with 10.5 saves per.
· Becky Gohsler is third in program history with 119 career draw controls. Caitlin McCartney (2012-15) holds the school record with 186 career draw controls while Erin Edell (2002-05) is second with 152.
· The Blue Hens are 43-37 (.538) all-time at Delaware Stadium since their first game there in February 2011.
· This season marks the 41st overall in Delaware program history. In the previous 40 seasons, the Blue Hens have tallied a composite record of 377-295 (.561) with 18 10-plus win campaigns.
· A squad that went 9-8 overall and 4-2 in CAA play with a trip to the CAA Tournament last year, UD returns 19 letter winners and eight starters while adding 11 newcomers.
· A youthful squad, the Hens feature just 11 juniors and seniors in 2017.
· Delaware was predicted to finished fourth in the CAA Preseason Poll.
· Seniors Taylor Carpentier and Becky Gohsler were picked as All-CAA Preseason selections.
· A two-year starter between the pipes for the Hens, Carpentier was an All-CAA Second Team and CAA All-Tournament Team honoree in 2017. She led the CAA and finished sixth nationally with an 8.62 GAA and was also second in the conference with a 46.4 save percentage. Carpentier enters her senior campaign ranked second in the Blue Hens career record books with a 7.96 GAA and 10th with 238 saves.
· An IWLCA All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team selection a year ago, Gohsler also collected All-CAA First Team, CAA All-Tournament Team and UD Alumni Association Team MVP accolades in 2017. The midfielder led Delaware in eight statistical categories (points, goals, ground balls, draw controls, free position goals, shots, shots on goal and caused turnovers) and ranked 22nd nationally with 2.07 caused turnovers per game. Gohsler is fourth in program history with 105 career draw controls and the team's active career leader with 80 points, 66 goals, 14 assists and 69 ground balls in 49 games played.
· Kateri Linville, who is in her eighth season at her alma mater in 2017-18, welcomes Joe Tornetta and Callie Santos as assistant coaches for the year.
SERIES INFORMATION 💪
· Delaware holds the all-time advantage against Monmouth, 5-0, since the series inception in 2013.
· Last season, the Blue Hens set a new school record for draw controls in a game while Coley Ricci broke the school record in the same category as Delaware cruised to the 19-9 victory at Monmouth on March 8, 2017. UD (3-2) finished the game with 23 draw controls to best the school mark of 21 set on February 25, 2015 at La Salle. Ricci collected 10 draw controls to break the school record of nine set by Shannon Burns against Drexel on April 15, 2012.
· In the last matchup at Delaware Stadium, Casey Lyons logged seven points as the Hens defeated Monmouth, 14-11, on March 12, 2016 for their fifth straight home win.
