NEWARK, Del. – The Blue Hens were unable to come up with a complete 60-minute performance Saturday afternoon as No. 10/13 Penn overtook Delaware, 15-4, at Delaware Stadium.
The Quakers (1-0) opened the contest with four straight goals and while the Hens (1-1) were able to cut the lead to 5-3, Penn outscored Delaware, 10-1, to collect the win.
Junior Mia DeRuggiero guided the Blue Hen offense and finished the day with one goal and one assist.

POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Kateri Linville
"I think the challenge for us to play for a complete 60 minutes still exists. Obviously today there were some highlight moments, but there was no consistency as a unit for 60 minutes. Penn is a quality opponent and they were quick to making some adjustments while we were a half step behind in terms of responding as a unit. They're a strong team and the only way you beat a strong team is by playing strong as a team and we didn't accomplish that. I think Julia Dambly played a heck of a game for us. She was tough, gritty and totally embodied what it means to be a Blue Hen for 60 minutes, but we need that from our entire group. There were certain others who stepped up at different times, but in terms of showing that determination, that grit, that confidence, that consistency, we need that 100% to win a game like this. That's a tough learning lesson, but it's early in the season and we'll use that as we prep for a two-game swing this coming week."
