Blue Hens Drop Series Finale at Drexel, 3-2

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Dragons posted a 3-2 win over the Delaware softball team on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Hens opened the scoring in the top of the fourth as Brittney Mendoza led off with a single and scored when Brooke Glanden drilled an RBI single to leftcenter.
However the Dragons took control by scoring three times in the sixth. With one out and runners on the corners, Holly Bridgman laid down a squeeze bunt to chase home Reilly Jo Swanson with the tying run. Hannah Walker and Savaanah Garcia then added RBI singles to make it a 3-1 game.
Glanden led off the seventh with a double, and one out later pinch runner Sarah Bessel scored on a sacrifice fly by Halle Kisamore. But Drexel pitcher Brooklyn Daly then retired Emily Blum on a groundout to end the game.
Glanden and Hanna Garber each recorded two hits for the Blue Hens, while Mendoza added one.
