UD Finishes Fourth, Nerpin and Bargenda Sixth at Ironwood Collegiate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The University of Delaware men's golf team finished in fourth place while Casper Nerpin and Michal Bargenda both tied for sixth place among individuals at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic.
The Blue Hens fired a 289 score on Tuesday to finish fourth out of 12 teams with an 872 total. Tournament host East Carolina captured the team title at 870, while William & Mary and Gardner-Webb tied for second place with 871 scores.
Bargenda carded a four under par 68 during his final round on the par 72, 7,120-yard course at Ironwood Country Club, finishing with a one under par 74-73-68=215. Bargenda, who tied his career-low round, recorded four birdies while not making a bogey on the day.
Nerpin, who recorded three birdies during his final round, tied for sixth along with Bargenda by finishing with a one under par 72-70-73=215.
Sparky Ariyachatvakin, who carded a 77-71-73=221 during the tournament, and Owen Manchester, who shot a 76-70-75=221, both tied for 16th place at five over par.
Matthew Adams, playing as an individual, finished in 62nd place with a 19 over par 78-82-75=235, while Hugo Kedzlie tied for 67th place with a 22 over par 77-78-83=238.
Nick Mayfield of Winthrop fired a five under par 211 to earn medalist honors.
Delaware closes out its fall schedule on Oct. 28-30 when the Blue Hens compete at the White Sands Invitational in Nassau, Bahamas.
