Delaware Announces Update Regarding New Floor

NEWARK, Del. – With the safety and well-being of its student-athletes the number one priority for Delaware Athletics, the department has removed the recently installed floor inside the Bob Carpenter Center after it was deemed unsafe to play on.
After attempting to reinstall the floor at the conclusion of an event in the facility, the department discovered further complications. Delaware men's and women's basketball will play on the temporary floor they had prior to the installation of the new surface.
During the few weeks the new floor was installed, there were no safety problems. The department is working with its vendor on solutions to remedy the issues and will not reinstall the floor until it is deemed to be safe for all participants.
