Track & Field Finishes in Seventh at the Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware track & field team made their return to the 56th annual Colonial Relays, hosted by CAA foe William & Mary dating back to the 2019 outdoor season on Apr. 1-2 from Walter J. Zable Stadium at Cary Field in Williamsburg, Va. With 24 events receiving scores in the two-day meet, the Blue Hens finished with 47 points to place seventh, including capturing wins in the 100m and Sprint Medley Relay events. Virginia posted 80 points to be crowned champions.
Aja Davis won the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 11.88, which now sits third in program history. Davis' time is ranked fourth in the conference. Trinity Tapper was the second Blue Hen to cress the finish line with a time of 12.10 to place third in the event. Davis also competed in the 200m, where she ran a 24.86 for eighth place.
The 1600m SMR team of Tapper, Davis, Halima Scott and Jessica Harding crossed the finish line first with a new school record time of 3:57.75.
The Blue Hens saw a four-five finish in the 3000m Steeplechase headlined by Tina Capparell and Sarah Daniels. Capparell finished the race in 10:51.23 (fourth place) while Daniels competed in the event for the first time in her career, finishing the race in 10:52.93 (fifth place), a time that now sits fourth in program history. Capparell's and Davis' time sits in 36th and 37th place, respectively in the NCAA East Region and ranks first and second in the CAA.
