NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team will welcome Macon Emory next season after he signed his National Letter of Intent, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Friday. He is the younger brother of current Blue Hen Houston Emory.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome Macon to the Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "He is a versatile, skilled wing with great shooting ability and a high basketball IQ. As he gets stronger and more acclimated to the college game, the sky is the limit for the impact he can have for our program."
The 6-8, 185-pound wing started his high school career at Conestoga before he transferred to the Blue Ridge School in Virginia. There, he played with Houston and current Blue Hen Kobe Jerome. A two-time Virginia state champion at Blue Ridge, Macon moved back home and enrolled at the Perkiomen School, where he reclassified into the class of 2024.
During his junior campaign at Perkiomen, he averaged 9.0 points, and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 36 percent from long range. He earned Third Team All-State honors and aided the Panthers to their first-ever PAISAA championship.
Macon comes from a family of hoopers, joining Houston and their parents, Andrew and Rebecca, as college basketball players. Mom and dad both played four years at William & Mary.
Born in Bermuda, Macon will join the Blue Hens for the 2024-25 season.
