Delaware got on the board with a Joey Loynd RBI single in the first, and added another on a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
Nate Rolka tossed four scoreless innings, striking out five. Bryce Greenly drove in another run on a double in the third.
The wheels came off the Delaware pitching staff after the fifth inning as UNCW chased across four runs in the sixth to take the lead.
The Blue Hens got as close as 5-4 after a Josearmando Diaz RBI double, but the Seahawks offense did not stop, scoring seven runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined and emerging on top 12-4.
This is the second time this season Delaware has been the victim of a sweep in a CAA series.
Diaz, Loynd and JJ Freeman each recorded multiple hits in the loss, while Dan Covino notched his 150th career hit.
The Blue Hens remain on the road for a midweek matchup with Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, looking to sweep the season series from the Hawks.
