Baseball Drops Series Finale at Northeastern

BROOKLINE, Mass. – Delaware baseball (15-16, 6-6 CAA) was on the short end of a long score at Northeastern (24-6, 8-4), dropping the series finale 20-5 on Sunday.
JJ Freeman got the Blue Hens off to a fast start in Brookline, sending the fourth pitch over the right-field wall to make it 1-0. This would be the only time the Blue Hens led in the game.
Northeastern had innings of nine and eight runs during the contest, with the largest lead being 19.
The Blue Hens added four runs in the final two innings, including a Dan Covino RBI single and a Freeman two-run double.
Freeman was 3-5 with three RBIs in the game and Jake Dunion was the only other Blue Hen with multiple hits.
Delaware returns home for a rematch with Saint Joseph's on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
