Men's Soccer Falls to Monmouth in CAA Matchup at Home

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team took a tough 4-0 loss to the Hawks on Friday night in Newark.
The Blue Hens are now 5-2-2 overall with a record of 1-2-1 in conference play.
ON THE RECORD
"There are no excuses, it's an unacceptable result and performance, and the players and staff know that," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "We'll look back at our approach and our decisions within the game to see where we can improve and then we'll get back to work."
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Eddie DeMarco recorded four saves on the night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens started off strong and managed to hold off the Hawks for the first 45 minutes, ending the half in a 0-0 draw.
- Monmouth notched their first goal during the 56th minute. The Hawks found the back of the net again in the 60th, 64th and 74th minutes. The goal scorers from Monmouth were Ben Zakowski, Arturo McConnochie, Bastian Hatcher and Gabe Dahlin, respecfully.
UP NEXT
Delaware returns to action Tuesday afternoon with a matchup at George Washington.
