Delaware Announces Enhanced Gameday Experience for Men’s and Women’s Basketball

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware basketball fans will experience a new atmosphere inside the Bob Carpenter Center this season.
Delaware will add the Courtside Club on the floor in front of Sections 11 and 12. This new elevated end-of-the-court premium seating option will put fans close to the action while being able to enjoy exclusive amenities during games. The Courtside Club is a private area for up to 60 people and offers a full-service bar and a variety of food menu options. To reserve this space for a game, please click here.
"We are excited to introduce the Courtside Club to our fans," Senior Associate Athletic Director of Sales & Service Kyle Koch said. "With its proximity to the floor, this space offers a view that is different from your typical baseline seat. Having a full-service bar and a variety of premium food options, this space will be great for any group or business looking to entertain their employees or clients."
The Delaware Pep Band will be moving from section 12 and will be joining UD Students in the Cockpit Student Sections. The Delaware team benches also will be switching ends of the court to in front of Section 16. This will make the visiting team shoot into the basket with the Cockpit behind it during the second half, giving the Blue Hens an additional home court advantage at the end of games.
"I'm excited for the changes we are making," head coach Martin Ingelsby said. "Ours fans will get treated to a fun in-game experience with the changes also benefiting our team. The band shifting to join the student section will make it more difficult for our opponents in the second half shooting on that end of the floor."
Floor seating capacity will increase from 28 to 40 on the south sideline. This allows more fans to have their feet on the floor and experience an unmatched view of the game. Any fans interested in premium floor seats, please click here.
"Our fans deserve a great experience and that is what these changes will help do," head coach Sarah Jenkins said. "I love the energy our band brings and partnering them with our student section will help us to create an environment at the Bob to make it one of the toughest places to play."
Additionally, Delaware Athletics looks to further enhance the gameday experience for basketball fans with the implementation of new grab & go concessions kiosk for fast and easy check out.
A DJ & emcee as well as more opportunities for fans to participate in engaging on court activations will be incorporated at select games throughout the season.
Blue Hens teams will announce their non-conference schedules soon with season tickets going on sale at that time. Season ticket memberships start at $155 for men's basketball and $85 for women's basketball. Season ticket member benefits include tickets to every home game at the lowest price per game, extra tickets for family and friends at no additional cost, and complimentary parking. You save even more when you buy both seasons!
Season ticket discounts are also available to UD Faculty & Staff, UD Alumni and families of four or more.
Partial plans and individual games will go on sale once the schedules are finalized with their CAA games.
