Men's Soccer Snags Third Win of the Season in 3-2 Defeat of Mount St. Mary's

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team picked up a 3-2 victory Tuesday evening over Mount St. Mary's to advance to 3-0-1 on the season. The victory marked the first road win over The Mount in program history.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Richard Monath recorded his first career goal.
Mikey Johnson and Luke Chatten tallied their first career assists.
Justin Ruth had two assists on the night.
Sam Donnellan and Carlos Fernandez had a goal each.
Eddie DeMarco recorded two saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware struck first in the 17th minute after Ruth crossed the ball finding Donnellan, who successfully flicked a header past the Mountaineer's keeper.
Mount St. Mary's answered in the very next minute, tying the game 1-1.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Delaware took the lead after Chatten found Monath in the middle, who perfectly executed a give-and-go with Johnson to put the Hens up 2-1.
In the 77th minute, Ferdandez fired the ball past the keeper off an assist from Ruth, recording the eventual game-winning goal.
With just over two minutes to spare, Mount St. Mary's ignited a spark that cut the lead from two to one.
The Hen's defense remained strong and managed to hold off the Mountaineers.
