NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's lacrosse team dropped their CAA home-opener against Towson, 11-6. While the Blue Hens dominated the draw controls with 15 to the Tigers two, the Hens turned the ball over 21 times. The Hens are 7-3 this season and 0-2 in conference play. They look to rebound next weekend when they travel to Virginia to play William & Mary.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Danielle Livornese scored on an assist from Delaney McDaniel to put the Hens on the board.
Sam Paradise worked her way through Towson's defense to score on a free-position.
Lizzie Hsu scored before halftime and again during the fourth quarter.
Callie Drab scored her eighth goal of the season in the final quarter.
Lizzie Yurchak also scored a goal early in the fourth quarter.
Steph Marszal saved nine shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter was a defensive battle between both teams. The Tigers were able to net two goals while the Hens were scoreless.
The Tigers and Hens traded goals towards the end of the second period and the Tigers were able to outscore the Hens 4-3, to go up 6-3 at halftime.
The Tigers completely controlled the third quarter, scoring four goals and shutting out the Hens to go into the final frame up seven.
The Hens picked up the pace offensively, scoring three goals to the Tigers one, ultimately giving Towson a 11-6 win.
